I finished the first instalment of this project yesterday - a reversable hat for Janus, the God after whom the month of January is named. Thankyou Jane; it's a complete revelation to me, and I suspect always will be, to spin my own wool which I can then knit, with the option of dyeing in between. It's quite a thing for me. :)

How did you make the buttons? And what is this 'squashing' exercise? I'm completely intrigued!

Buttons are just slices off the mistletoe branch; bark removed, left to dry a bit, then drilled through.

That's a relief then! LOL. Teh berries are beside the sink, ready to go, probably thsi week some time. They're there so I don;t forget them. After doing some more reading, I found out it's advantageous to wait until February, so I'm OK for a wee while yet.
