The colours of summer
Roses and elderflowers for the table, elderflowers for cordial and bundles of fresh parsley for summer wine making. The subtle colours and scents of early summer; it's a privelege to have them in my life.
Those ones with the elderflowers are Eglantine, one of my favourites - it grows out by the front wall; the scent is just beautiful. The ones in the little picture on the righthand sidebar are Albertine and Zepherine Drouhin, also from teh front garden. I haven't made rose petal jam on its own, but I did rhubarb and rose petal jam last year, which is lovely, also rose petal wine.
The roses are so pretty i can almost smell them
ReplyDeleteWhat variety are they ?
Have you ever made rose petal jam? I found a recipe and wondered if it really was "turkish delighty"
