.............. well, some of them, anyway! At the moment, I'm leaving the run gate open, and the come out into the garden; there's not too much dmage for them to do at this time of year, but I see they have kindly ploughed up the greenhouse beds for me, and eaten most of the Swiss chard LOL. It's so nice to be able to see them pottering around outside the kitchen window, noseying into every pot, nook and cranny! The cockerel is called William, as in William Barnes, the Dorset dialect poet. Not sure if his crowing is in dialect, but it's mighty loud :)

William is so handsome! Yes, my two hens are busy scratching about in the garden at the moment - hard to find worms in this frozen ground, but I've been giving them plenty of treats to cheer them up!

Is it hard work keeping chickens?
They look very well tended...i have a fondness for chickens...x
Not hard work as such, but it is regular, at least twice a day to let out and lock up, feeding, drinkers, talking to them, picking them up and cuddling them - it's all time consuming. Can be a bit of a tie if you go away, you need to find someone to look out for them. Otherwise, no LOL I've had my own for 20 years now, would be strange without them!
they do look happy MrsL :o) cant wait to get mine, not long now :o)
My, he is beautiful!
There's nothing like free-ranging the chickens and watching them scurry about is very entertaining. I especially love it when the jump up to catch something flying low to the ground.
Someone once said, "Everything you need to know about people can be learned in the chicken yard." Pretty much true, isn't it?? lol
