I have my own personal wishing well!! Not sure if it would work, but I couldn't resist it - there at the tip again :0) Bean thinks it's a bit ugly, but I think it's very beautiful, and I've not seen one like it before, so it came home with me. Chip out of the rim, but that's fine my me - it'll go on display somewhere, in the bathroom maybe. Love it...........

Ugly? How can that be? It has charm and character and the little chip just adds to that. It'd look beautiful filled with some dried grasses and flowers or similar, I'm sure.

Sarah,are there any marks on the bottom? it looks to me like it could be either a company called sylvac, or falconware? they did wishing well ranges as far as I remember, all sorts of other pieces to match too/

been thinking about this more its falconware I think! ( I used to dabble a lot, can you tell? Lol)prob from 1930/40's.

Well spotted, Leanne - it is indeed Falcon Ware. There's a jug on e-bay at the moment for 50.00, but smaller than mine by an inch each way, although it has no chip. Seems it's very collectable - tip turns up trumps again, thankyou very much:0)

theres a whole ranhge of 'wishing well' by Falcomware. It was made in Longton, Stoke on trent by the company of Thomas Lawrence T/As falcomware. In the series there definitely are 3 jugs different sizes, a butter dish & cheese dish, fruit bowls, a kniver, posy holders tea pot, plus more, you'll have to keep an eye open for more pieces!
