With things in a state of flux recently, physically, mentally and emotionally, things have got out of kilter with me, but am now happy to report I am back to busy, so normal service has been resumed lol This means all knitting, brewing cooking, sewing, baking and internet activities are resumed, and I'm getting some writing done, and having a high old time in the garden too. Shedquarters is inching forward in progress, hope to achieve quite a bit over the weekend - watch this space.
Nice to be back on track :)

Off-grid solar powered fudge
More experiments in the solar powered kitchen (well, the greenhouse lol) !
4 oz butter
4 oz milk chocoalte
1 tin condensed milk (397g)
1 lb icing sugar
2tbsp good dark cocoa
Melt butter and chocolate in separate bowls - take a couple of hours or so in a hot greenhouse. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and beat well, turn into a buttered tin, leave to set.
This give a softer, more squidgier fudge than the traditional stuff, and benefits from being kept in the fridge, but that would really defeat part of the off-grid bit if I used an electric fridge. I'm sure it will keep just fine in the fridge I'm making, more of which soon.
