That lusty month of May..............

"The month of May was come, when every lusty heart beginneth to blossom, and to bring forth fruit. For, like as herbs and trees bring forth fruit and flourish in May, in like wise every lusty heart that is any manner a lover, springeth, burgeoneth, buddeth, and flourisheth in lusty deeds. For it giveth unto all lovers courage, that lusty month of May" (Sir Thomas Mallory, Morte d'Arthur,c 1470)

And who am I to argue?:)

May already, the year seems to be hurtling by; it'a a beautiful day here, so will be going otuside for the morning very shortly to amke the most of it. Hope the weekend is as good. There are several projects I want to get up and running by the end of the summer - build a brick oven and or clay oven; sort out the cabin so I can maybe sleep out there occasionally, make it a little self-sufficient hide-away; make a cold smoker; set up and run a charcoal burner. I'd really like to spend more time outdoors, so aim to do so this year. Will try and conquer my unease about the dark.......

I've just been out smiling at the garden (whilst knitting ), but had to come in as it was too hot! :0

Gorgeous day here too! Blue skies, fluffy white clouds - just perfect! Am intrigued about the cabin idea - how fantastic to have a little hideaway - can't wait to hear more about it.

Am having a day in the garden today, as we have 2 new arrivals (poorly hen Treacle died on Monday .. so sad) - a couple of light sussex hybrid-types, will blog about them soon. Have a lovely weekend,

Sorry to hear about Treacle - it's always sad, even after 20+ years here.
