Non-electric sausages

Made some sausages this morning, completely without the use of electricity - took little time, and very satisfying in a lot of ways. Good hefty old mincer, then a hand sausage machine. Tehse are pure Berkshire pork, from the pig we licked up last weekend from a friend, probably for tea tonight. Looking forward to these..............

My mum used to have one of the old mincers and she would clamp it to the kichen table.Sunday was the only day we had roast and she always kept some back to mince up for monday to make either shepherds pie ,cottage pie or chicken pie and the bones from the chicken were boiled up to make a stock for some soup for Tuesday! She had be thrifty as we didn't have much and I suppose thats where I get it from!If we had sausages they were cut up to go further and mixed into some pasta and vegetables or we had sausage and mash with onion gravy ooooh this is bringing back memories! Thanks,Kathyann
