......... packing in earnest. I've started with the books; I've managed to be *quite* ruthless, but still a lot to go. It's difficult getting rid of them, but in the process I've found explicit instructions for making a duvet, a long-cherished project of mine, so into the box that one went lol Next is the huge stash of wool etc at the end of the sofa- that will take a whole morning I reckon, but I just need to hoik whatever I'm not taking up the stairs here to an eager reception from Bean, so that's handy.
Ah well, back to it now............ lol it's quite cathartic really, although I'd love to take it all :)

On location...........

I'm spending a while up in North Yorkshire, and have landed in Richmond, staying with a freind. I'm speaking to you from the library lol, en route to the pub for a pint of Black Sheep I think. It's a beautiful town, lots of history, but very lively and lots going on; found some wonderful shops, galleries, etc, lovely people too. Very taken with it all, and ofcourse, being Yorkshire, there are sheep nearby lol
Things still very much up in the air for me at the moment, but things are moving slowly behind the scenes, and I'll update you all as soon as I can.
In the meantime, I'm having a great break with a lovely friend, getting lots of knitting done and am being spoilt rotten with all sorts of cocktails being amde for me in the evenings lol
Hope all are well, will get back here as soon as is humanly possible.

Early mornings
I couldn't sleep this morning, so got up just after 5am; cups of tea and some work on the forum, Scrabble, etc kept me busy. I find my mind much clearer first thing, and any problems or worries from last night seem to recede and become surmountable. A night's sleep works wonders, and I'm lucky (in a way) that I can do on 4 - 5 hours or so most nights. My bedtime varies, not being a creature of habit lol
I sit hear listening to that sound that is unique to almost being able to hear the radio but not quite - unique to early mornings when the radio is in another room; the traffice is beginning outside - tractors and lorries (albeit few) at this time of day, it's still pitch black outdoors and raining. Mentally planning my day too, although the freshness of morning may make me a bit optimistic on that front lol
So - you? Early bird or not?

And another rant.............
The Archers is fiction, it is not real, therefore it has no place on any news bulletin on the radio whatsoever. As I read in The Guernsey Potato Peel and Literary Society*, it is about people who never existed doing things they never did.
Please people, get real!!
*by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows - one of the best books I've read, give it a go.

That was the year that was...........
Well, been a bit of a year, all told. Started off recovering from major surgery from just before last Chritmas, took me several months to get even vaguely right again. There followed a bout of what I now see as depression, although I didn't realise it at the time, and I've since read that depression is often a result of trying to be strong for too long. Looking back, I see this was the case, physically and emotionally, should have given myself more time. Marriage broke up, fell deeply in love, got my heart broken, now in limbo trying to find somewhere to move to still,a nd a job, get my business off the ground and get on with some writing. I found out yesterday that one of my closest friends died, so all in all it's been a pretty crap year!
However - I am strong, and looking to another New Calendar Year with hope and optimism. New people to meet, more laughter, new beginnings, new home, new relationships, more travelling, writing. Want to get back to painting and drawing again, play more fiddle, live on a houseboat, travel the country, sleep under the stars, camp on the beach, spend more time outdoors, do more walking, more reading, listen to more music, meet more people............ so much I want to do,and 2011 will be the year to do it I feel.
My continued heartfelt thanks for staying with the blog through everything this year, it means a lot to me, and I promise to get the photo thing sorted out as soon as I can, will need to take the laptop in and get it looked at.
I'd like to wih each and every one of you all theh very best for 2011, and hope it brings all you wish for, and a bit more.

Planning a trip...........
I really fancy a trip to London to one of the big galleries, so off for a look around the net to see what's on. Half the pleasure of a trip is in the planning, for me.
