| - again! I loved this, happened this morning. A few days ago I ordered some dyed Shetland rovings for spinning and they arrived this morning. I had the computer on as I was opening the mail, and just as I ulled the wool from the packaging a FB friend of mine posted up a photo of a painting in exactly the colours that were appearing from the envelope.................... here they are, painting by Zinovii Sydoriv
I was going to write incredible, but it's not really, the universe just works for those who believe it does :)

Synchronicity
More adventures in the brewery
I have two gallons of cottage cider ready for the demi-john today, and enough apples to immediately get another two on the go - free apples for the picking up of at my favourite nursery, where I also got a free plant :) Yesterday I started some honey rum and some pomegranate vodka, which is a new one to me. I also made some more NEPP (not enough pea pods) wine; I bought a bag of peas, shelled them into the chicken casserole last night and the pods went into the brewpot with several bits of fruit that needed using up. I find that these wines are usually very good but there's never any chance of replicating them. To me that's a good thing, just enjoy what's on offer at the time, there'll be another one just as good coming along soon! Autumn abundance, love it. Rosehips next.

Food yards
This was supper tonight - from plant to plate in 15 minutes, from a few yards up the garden. Served just with plenty of melted butter to run down your chin :)

Basket case.................
I love baskets. I have a lot of them, and I use them all - storage, project bags, shopping, books, papers, everything. Sometimes a particular basket catches my eye and is so pleasing it has to come home with me; such was the case today, found in a charity shop in Wareham. The colours are more vibrant than the camera has picked up, and it has a long single handle. Just perfect. I took the chance to visit the wee market being held down by the quay too; a really wonderful little fruit and veg stall, with all sorts of rarely seen things to buy. This was my shopping this afternoon: Plus a couple of walnut and cheese loaves and a cider apple loaf, being sold off cheaply towards the end of the afternoon. I sat and had a pint watching the ducks and swans on the river in the autumn sunshine. Wareham is a lovely wee town, first time I've actually been there for a decent length of time. Very pretty houses, good pubs and the wee market, boats, swans and ducks too.

I thought it was about time I knitted something for myself, so am just about to cast on for this It's called Faery Ring, designed by Mary Scott Huff; I'm doing it as a KAL challenge to knit a jumper in October in a Ravelry group. This is my wool, lovely soft mix of lambswool and silk

My - that's a big one.....................
Bit different to my usual crochet! I wouldn't say out of my comfort zone, as I'm enjoying doing it. It's the Crochet Granny shrug pattern I found on Ravelry, worked in a cherry red chunky yarn. The hook is a somewhat astounding 15mm.............. Am please with it so far, but using such a large hook is taking some getting used to. Working up quickly, though http://www.kootoyoo.com/?attachment_id=3405
