Poet's Calendar Project

I finished the first instalment of this project yesterday - a reversable hat for Janus, the God after whom the month of January is named. Read more about my year-long project here:http://poetscalendarproject.blogspot.com/
The top picture shows the hat as it came off the needles, more or less, the second one folded ready to wear.

Thankyou Jane; it's a complete revelation to me, and I suspect always will be, to spin my own wool which I can then knit, with the option of dyeing in between. It's quite a thing for me. :)

Hi MrsL
Oooh I love the log carrier! I wish we'd had one when I was younger and I'd bring the logs in, I never liked getting covered in bits and bugs!
Really like your '10 things' post.
How did you make the buttons? And what is this 'squashing' exercise? I'm completely intrigued!
The hat looks brilliant, very cosy, and a lovely colour too.
There think I've caught up with messages!
Have a lovely Sunday

Buttons are just slices off the mistletoe branch; bark removed, left to dry a bit, then drilled through.

Remind me of the "squashing"exercise? LOL

Hey MrsL
You say at the end of the button post
'I have saved the berries and will get out at the weekend and do my annual squashing-into-apple-tree-bough exercise. I've not been succcessful yet, but I continue to hope.'
This is the 'squashing' excercise I meant! Haha.

That's a relief then! LOL. Teh berries are beside the sink, ready to go, probably thsi week some time. They're there so I don;t forget them. After doing some more reading, I found out it's advantageous to wait until February, so I'm OK for a wee while yet.
